Preliminary Plans

Teachers, school leaders and district staff have been working tirelessly since June to figure out the best ways to open our schools this Fall.

We have been working collaboratively in many groups across all grade levels assessing our school buildings, learning from the work we did in the Spring, communicating with neighboring districts, and using the best guidance from local and state guidance and from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary & Secondary Education (DESE).

DESE is requiring all districts to develop a comprehensive reopening plan that includes three learning models - In-Person, Remote, and a combination of the two which is called a Hybrid model.

Follow the links below to see details about the Preliminary Plans that were completed on July 31.

Upcoming Planning Schedule:

  • August 5: Public Presentation of Preliminary Plans at School Committee

  • August 6 -11: Online Parent Forums for each grade span. See the schedule here.

  • August 12: School Committee votes on plan to be submitted to DESE and the Primary Learning Model for each school level

  • August 6 - 31: Plans are operationalized with buildings, classrooms, transportation, food service, school schedules, and safety protocols and procedures all finalized and put into action
